GSM Evolution

Wireless technology provides us more advantages over line phones.  One of those advantages is that it goes where cables and fibers cannot.  In addition to that, wireless commonly both competes with and complements existing broadband access.  Likewise, GSM technology for cell phones provides us even more advantages. GSM is the world’s most widely used cell phone technology.  It stands for Global System for Mobile Communication.

The cell phone service carrier of our cell phone uses a GSM network.  It will search for cell phone tower near the area.  This way GSM can turn our cell phone into a world phone because of its wider roaming capacities.  Cell phone carrying GSM technology has roaming contacts with other cell phones that carry the GSM technology.

They also cover rural areas greatly than the other cell phone technology.  By the year 2003, EDGE was introduced.  It stands for Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution.  It is a faster version of GSM.  This technology is high in speed and is a third generation technology which is built upon the standard of GSM.  It is three times more the performance and capacity of the GSM and is designed to provide us multimedia applications.  These includes audio and videos for mobile phones and a streaming television.
