Wireless technology provides us more advantages over line phones. One of those advantages is that it goes where cables and fibers cannot. In addition to that, wireless commonly both competes with and complements existing broadband access. Likewise, GSM technology for cell phones provides us even more advantages. GSM is the world’s most widely used cell phone technology. It stands for Global System for Mobile Communication.

The cell phone service carrier of our cell phone uses a GSM network. It will search for cell phone tower near the area. This way GSM can turn our cell phone into a world phone because of its wider roaming capacities. Cell phone carrying GSM technology has roaming contacts with other cell phones that carry the GSM technology.

They also cover rural areas greatly than the other cell phone technology. By the year 2003, EDGE was introduced. It stands for Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution. It is a faster version of GSM. This technology is high in speed and is a third generation technology which is built upon the standard of GSM. It is three times more the performance and capacity of the GSM and is designed to provide us multimedia applications. These includes audio and videos for mobile phones and a streaming television.

Because of so many options we have today in choosing a cell phone, it is not anymore surprising to find a class of cell phone in which only those super rich can afford. Here is a list of the world’s most expensive cell phones.

Goldvish “Le Million” – ($ 1.3 Million) The Guinness World Records certified this piece unique on the 29th of January 2008. This expensive mobile phone is designed as an addition to the Illusion Collection of the Geneva-based Luxury Communications Company. The Goldvish mobile phone is made of 18 K white gold and is set with 10 Carats of VVS diamonds. Like other cell phone models, Goldvish features Bluetooth, 2GB storage, FM Radio, a digital camera, and MP2 playback. It is available only in special order.

Vertu Signature Cobra – A French jeweler created the stunning design of this plane. This phone features 439 rubies and 2 emeralds on the cobra’s eyes. The Vertu Signature Cobra is so expensive that only 8 will ever be made.

Sony Ericsson Black Diamond – ($ 300,000) The actual art technology and the visual appeal of this phone is what made it expensive and not a bunch of shinny rocks. The OLED technology underneath the polycarbonate skin that covers this phone’s entire face give the screen a borderless look. Its mirror finish gives it a sleek and futuristic look.

Vertu Diamond – ($ 88,000) It is diamond encrusted and has a platinum body. It doesn’t have a camera to take a picture or a video, but it has the ability to send text messages, record voice memos, alarm clock, computer synchronization and enough memory for 1,000 contacts. It may not be the most cutting edge cell phone technology but it is certainly one of the most expensive.

Motoralla V220 – ( 51,800 ) It is decorated with 1,200 diamonds and 18 Carat gold keypad. Its features include MP3 ringtones, polyphonic, USB, SMS, EMS and SIMs messaging.
